Delegate Information
Venue layout and registration desk
The registration desk will be located in the Auditorium Foyer of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from Monday 7th November.
The registration desk will be open from the following times:
- Monday: 7:00am until 5:30pm
- Tuesday: 7:30am until 5:00pm
- Wednesday: 7:30am until 3:30pm
The Theranostics plenary sessions will run in the Clarendon Auditorium on Level two in the Melbourne Convention Centre.
The speaker preparation room
Presentations are to be loaded direct to the PC within the Clarendon Auditorium on Level 2 at least a full session in advance of your session. You should bring your talk on a USB, saved in a format for display on a pc within the room. A technician will be on hand to assist with any transfer / loading issues and to help you check your presentation. If you wish to present on your own laptop, this is fine however you will need to inform the technician at least one full session before you present. If you a bringing a Macintosh computer, please ensure you bring the appropriate converter cables.
Abstract publishing
All submitted abstracts are published on the congress website (www.theranostics2016.org) as a downloadable pdf document.
Registration
The Full Delegate Registration fee includes:
- all delegate materials (name tag, satchel, delegate handbook)
- breakfast (Tuesday)
- lunches (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)
- morning teas (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)
- afternoon teas (Monday and Tuesday)
- the Welcome Function
- use of the Theranostics Conference smart phone APP
Please note, satchels will only be handed to exhibitors if supply permits.

Name Tags
Delegates are required to wear their name tags to all scientific and catered sessions. Delegates should note that within their name tag pouch are the specific social function tickets they are attending.
Poster Viewing
Delegates with posters can find the correct position for their poster by locating the appropriate abstract number on the display panels. The panels are set up in the Exhibition area located in the Concourse Foyer within the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Reference the poster listing in the delegate handbook (or conference app) to identify your abstract number and poster position. Posters can be mounted on Monday morning and must be removed on Wednesday afternoon. The official Theranostics poster viewing session will be on Tuesday in the form of a Conference breakfast and moderated poster walk from 8:30am - 9:30am. The presenters should attend this poster session as prizes will be awarded for best posters in three categories, Neuroendocrine, Prostate Tumours and Novel Theranostics.
Dr. Saul Hertz: RAI The Origin of Theranostics Exhibition
An exciting feature of the 2016 Theranostics World Congress is the The Saul Hertz (1905-1950) and the Origin of Nuclear Medicine exhibit. This exhibition will be displayed alongside the poster panels (on the Concord Foyer) during the conference. The Saul Hertz (1905-1950) and the Origin of Nuclear Medicine exhibit celebrates Dr. Hertz as the founding father of Theranostics. Highlighted are vivid images, vintage newspaper articles, journal reprints and the Data Charts from the world's first patients treated successfully with a nuclear substance-radioiodine (RAI). Dr Hertz overcame the challenges of the intolerance of being an outsider, institutional politics, stolen intellectual property as well as his work being interrupted by World War II to bring his paradigm changing work to fruition. He envisioned the tracer method of holding the key to Cancer in general. Saul Hertz's success of developing the medical uses radioiodine (RAI) is the first and Gold Standard of targeted Cancer therapy.
Social Functions
The Welcome Function will be held amongst the exhibition in the Auditorium Foyer at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on Monday 7th November from 5:30pm until 7:30pm. This function is complimentary for all attendees of the meeting. Additional tickets for partners ($50) can be purchased from the registration desk.
The Conference Dinner will be held on Tuesday evening in room 210 & 211 from 7:00pm until 10:00pm at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Please note, this room is located in the Convention Centre (other building – not where the presentation is held) side of the convention centre. This is a ticketed function (Registered delegates: $25 per ticket / Additional ticket: $90 per ticket) and they must be purchased in advance from the registration desk.
Insurance
The hosts and organisers are not responsible for personal accidents, any travel costs, or the loss of private property and will not be liable for any claims. Delegates requiring insurance should make their own arrangements.
Smoking
Please note that smoking is not permitted in the venue.
Mobile Phone
Please ensure they are turned off during any session you attend.
